Warfield's modern detached roofscape
Warfield's housing is overwhelmingly post-1995, dominated by large detached Persimmon, Wates, Charles Church and Berkeley homes through Quelm Park, Whitegrove, Brownlow and the more recent Garrick development. The dominant covering is concrete interlocking tile in dark slate-grey or earth tones, with feature stone or clay-tile front gables on the larger Berkeley plots. Continuous dry-fix ridges, hips and verges are standard, and many roofs include integrated dormers or large roof-window arrays serving converted second-floor accommodation.
The older Warfield village core around the church has a small concentration of handmade clay-tile cottages and 1930s detached houses with steeper pitches and traditional sand-and-cement ridge bedding.
