Woodley's mixed-era roofscape
Woodley's housing is more varied than its neighbouring Earley. The town has substantial 1950s and 1960s estate housing through the original Woodley development, large 1970s–90s extensions across the Bulmershe and Sonning border, and pockets of older Sonning village stock with handmade clay tile and natural slate that requires sympathetic conservation handling. The dominant covering on the estate housing is concrete interlocking tile (Marley Modern, Redland 49, some early Forticrete).
We also handle a regular volume of flat-roof work in Woodley because so many of the 1960s semis have been extended with single-storey rear or side additions over the decades.
